Is CAT , really Tough??? ( but Fun!! )

Hi Guys, it has been a dazzling phrase, that has been pubished in all the minds of the engineers and graduates aspiring to get into the iim's is "BELL THE CAT, The Toughest of all" . But , the truth is, it is the biggest joke of the century!, that can be laughed out when you know, what really it is, I'l tell you the truth!

Very recently, read a book entitled "How to bell the CAT? " , haha, i really loved reading it, might be, even it can be named as one of the best books, i have read ever. It din't have a specific author, putting all the steps aligned in order with bulletins, that has to be followed daily in order to bell the cat, nothing serious like that, it was just different, and it was a collection of the stories of different iim-alumni students sharing their experiences that happened to them on the so called judgement day of "interview and gd rounds" and the day of cat exam, it was just funny, and i bet you, it had around 100 stories approximately and none had a serious background score, it was damn funny and all were having their best days of their lifetime.

Let me tell you the biggest jokes of CAT, how it would be when you've been told a joke by your friend and you take that very seriously with fear, thats what happens here in CAT, being told that "it is the most difficult nut to crack, you keep working on it seriously, thinking of bulldozers, equipment's to crack it" . If you do that, really thats the funniest part of your prep!

Well, one guy's experience in that book, goes this way, he cleared cat with a score of 97.8 and he had his brother's marriage the day before cat and was busy the full week before, that he even forgot that he had cat that weekend, and on the day before interview he got bitten by a poisonous insect at iim-B and his mouth got swollen, that he was dumb in the gd and hardly tried opening his mouth in PI rounds and that guy was selected , for being confident on that situation and keeping himself cool and despite having some illness in speaking, the way he answered the interview knew no bounds.

It is all about being cool, the only way of cracking the cat, it should be an attitude of "CAT?, hey remind me the day before exam, i'l give my shot" , sounding over confidence??? , please try knowing the difference between the two, its always better to forget the exam date and do something everytime that strikes for us.

A normal guy, if said to prepare vocabulary , will try reading 30 words a day and revise them daily, a cool minded person will read all papers, stuffs and find meaning for the words that he din't know and use them immediately in criticising his friends, in messaging with friends, chatting online, putting captions, and talking himself regarding, these stuffs can only be done, when we are cool regarding cat and think its the easiest of all exams. When we're cool, we get what is called the "presence of mind" . When asked to talk in gd's, a normal guy will be a sweat generator, and the cool guy will overwhelm with thoughts, because he must have had a lot of practical experiences than playing always with the engineering books!

Ofcourse, engineering is a game, but that game will have lots and lots of awesome experiences  in the practical part rather reciting the theories in the exams. A well built profile, will always have a cool breeze waving at them in the CAT and lets not forget the only solution for cat, being cool, and if we're cool, then its "CAT is a cake walk", ofcourse patisseries apart!

Being cool always earns you more credits, eg. MS Dhoni, and thats the reason the iim guys have been given stunning 6-7 digit pays, and talked big, so, lets all be a MS Dhoni in what we want.

Yours,
Mahesh Balan
